Charlottesville, VA’s Recycled House incorporates everything from discarded countertops to old bleachers found at a local scrap yard, into an air bnb home fit for up to six guests.
The home is almost completely built with recycled materials. Soapstone countertops come from the University of Virginia’s old chemistry lab. White brick used in the home’s interior used to be the foundation to a now-torn down elementary school. A local company’s discarded granite is now the floor of this home. Even interior walls are made out of 100+ year-old wood, taken from a nearby building set to be torn down.
The Recycled Home’s materials — once set aside for disposal, are now part of a beautiful property. All Remnants works to empower you to build sustainably as well. Design and build with (re)purpose.
